Certified Eating Disorder Specialist (CEDS) and Consultant (CEDS-C) Renewal Checklist

Certified Eating Disorder Specialist (CEDS) Renewal and
Certified Eating Disorder Specialist Consultant (CEDS-C) Checklist

You can renew your CEDS and CEDS-C up to three months prior to your renewal date. On our certification platform (Certemy) you will be prompted to provide the following materials:

  • Proof of current eligibility to practice, such as a license or legal authorization to practice, which must include name and expiration date
  • 20 hours of continuing education specific to eating disorders accrued within the past 2 years, demonstrated with a certificate that includes name, date, number of hours earned and title of training.
    • If the title of training or provider is not specific to eating disorders, there will be a request for learning objectives or session description that must include relevance/reference to eating disorders. Courses and trainings that do not explicitly reference eating disorders will not be applicable.
  • $150 renewal fee
    • An additional $125 late fee will be assessed if you renew more than 30 days after your renewal date

For CEDS-C, you may see two renewal dates in our certification platform. Please note, your credential is renewed with your original CEDS renewal date. Your CEDS-C certificate indicates this.

Upon completion of your renewal application and fee, please allow up to 30 days for review by our Certification team.

As of January 2025, changes to the CEDS and CEDS-C are outlined below. However, if you opened or began an application before July 8, 2024, your application will still include these verification steps. You can put "N/A" or upload a placeholder blank document to fulfill the verification steps in the platform.
