Teaming Up with ACT: Collaborating with Acceptance and Commitment Therapy presented by Bonnie Brennan, MA, LPC, CEDS and Roxanne Hartman, RD Acceptance and Commitment Therapy
(ACT), a third wave behavioral therapy, provides a common language for dietitians and mental health professionals (MHP) to develop treatment plans and collaborate together in helping clients move towards a valued life in recovery. Through ACT’s 6 core processes, clients can work towards meeting nutritional and therapeutic goals in the context of values rather than avoidance of unwanted experiences. These dynamic presenters will offer discussion and practice of how both the MHP and dietitian team up with ACT to help clients increase psychological flexibility around unwanted mental content as well as committed behavioral actions towards recovery.
