We all experience loss, but what happens when the person we are grieving is a client? What do we do with the grief, guilt, and overall impact of losing a client when many people in our lives either don’t understand how connected we get to our clients or we don’t have anyone with whom to process this loss? This workshop will use a case study of loss, connection, and lessons learned after the death of an eating disorder client to unpack ways to prioritize self- care and walk through the unique experience of loss in our field.
Learning Objectives
- After this workshop, participants will be able to list at least two self-care strategies.
- After this workshop participants will be able to describe at least two proactive with tools for managing grief and loss.
- Participants will be able to describe one strategy for receiving support in consultation around loss.
