Description: Contemporary trends in the subject matter give reason to believe that the etiology of eating disorders and their symptoms would be best characterized by multi-factorial models involving biological, psychological, interpersonal and cultural factors.

The inclusion of biological, mental and social factors in the pattern of eating disorders indicates the impossibility of identifying a specific cause as a risk to their development. We can not look for the "cause" of eating disorders (ED) related to, for example, some personal history or trauma and even the interaction of psychological processes by group of factors .

Research identifies multiple groups of risk factors ranging from individual to family and socio-cultural, contributing to the development of ED. These issues will be covered throughout this webinar.
