Walking the tightrope between treating the eating disorder and managing other chronic diseases is an artful challenge, as medical nutrition therapy for many chronic diseases involves dietary adjustments that often parallel the eating disorder mentality (e.g., limiting carbohydrates or fats, increasing consumption of fruits and vegetables, or getting more physical activity).
In this webinar participants will learn practical strategies for teaching clients with eating disorders how to manage chronic disease in the context of their recovery. We will also discuss additional lifestyle factors that are associated with both eating disorder recovery and chronic illness, such as nutrition, exercise, sleep and stress management.
